My son requested a series of polar bears, and I didn’t need any convincing. To me, they symbolize a fierce resilience and have a powerful presence. Because I worked on all the paintings in this collection at the same time, each bear developed its own distinct personality.
This one is my personal favorite. He feels steady and sure, and was created at a time when I needed a bit of that myself. You can even see the remnants of my own journaling textured directly into the ice.
